Are most federal government employees really employees or subcontractors working for a contractor?
When did this become the norm ...where we have so many subcontractors working for the government instead of actual government employees? Is there a chance someday most of U.S. military will be subcontractors too??? and we can outsource our wars???

- As a Federal Employee I have to tell you I am an employee of the Federal Government and not a contractor.
- It is indeed true. It became the norm under President Reagan under an executive Order called A-76 which specifies only inherent Governmental jobs will be held by Government employees. The rest will be competed in the free market. Clinton decimated the Military and the Civil Service. That's when it happened. BTW...there's nothing wrong with Contractors...we get paid less than Government employees! The government wouldn't run if it was left to the feds! We are under appreciated.
