The two that actually come up a lot are 1. trying to collect gambling losses/winnings where gambling is illegal. 2. trying to collect money or drugs from drug sales (that is illegal anywhere) Otherwise, anything that is illegal (unlicensed practitioner where a license is needed, contract violating zoning laws, contract to commit a crime like theft, murder, etc.)
3. Contracts to sell human beings are illegal, such as selling slaves or selling your child to another family. Contracts to do work on property that does not belong to the parties signing the contract are also illegal. Contracts to pay a local or state government employee to use his/her power to confer a special benefit are considered corruption.
