I worked in Army Intelligence for 5 years and have been out of the field for 2 years. Am I still marketable?
Upon being honorably discharged from the Army in 2005, I worked as a security supervisor for one year, resigned from that job to start taking college courses in June 2006, majoring in business. I have posted my resume at usajobs.com, monster.com and hotjobs, in search of a position as an intelligence analyst with the federal government or a contract organization, with no luck over the past two years. Am I still marketable to such organizations, despite my lack of continued experience?

- Of course you are. But jobs in the Government are few as workers stay in them forever. You may try working in a private company that does federal contracts and keep trying for the job you want!! Good luck to you and Thank You for serving our Country.
- Of course. YOu haven't forgotten anything, have you? Most coprorations will have either their own rules, or NSA rules if they're a tech company dealing with COMSEC. -- SSGT, USMC-R, ViaSat.
- The main thing will be the status of your clearance. If that hasn't expired you shouldn't have any problems. Keep looking...
- You should know, the government likes to hire from within, my sugestion, get involved with an Army Reserve unit thats MI. You'd be surprsed at the contacts you'll be able to make.
- Just go back in as a merc! You can work for halliburton for more than you've ever received in your life until you get killed and hung from a bridge!
- I was in for about 14 years in the military and yes your skills can be used in the civillian sector. You are behind compared to your peers but you can get a job. Check the adds for a security clearence and you may get it due to your service. Its cheaper to hire folks that already went through that mess, than to hire on new folks that haven't.
