Is it true that Iraq is a mostly contracted war?
I'm in the middle of watching "Iraq for Sale", and I decided to open a new tab to ask this question to see what kind of response I get. Is it true that our federal government has contracted soldiers to fight in Iraq with taxpayer money? If they (Blackwater) have, shouldn't they be held accountable for their employees deaths because they are in a military war zone? Feel free to add any thoughts and if you'd like to watch the documentary you can do so here... http://videohybrid.com/index.php/movies/iraq-for-sale/#more-2347 apparently reasonable, intelligent answers are out of the question. Lloyd...if these companies are "CONTRACTED" that means somebody is paying them. Since they are "CONTRACTED" by the "GOVERNMENT" thats means that the "GOVERNMENT" is paying them with "TAXPAYER MONEY". - The contractors only defend themselves, they don't go on missions where combat is the objective.
- I think they used those guys in New Orleans after the Katrina hurricane. They were going around kicking in people's doors, beating up on them and confiscating their guns. It was probably an exercise for in the future when Bush declares martial law and disarms Americans.
- absolutely true.
- Yes, we do have military contractors in Iraq. Blackwater as you say, and others, but they are there for multiple reasons. Taxpayers money? No. They are paid by the company they work for. Is the Government liable for them? No. They do not have to accept a job to Iraq, or any other hot spot. They go at their own risk voluntarily.
- The some 200,000 troops we invariably have over there are US military and swear an oath to defend our nation. So is it true that our troops are paid by contract? Does it really matter?
