Will Halliburton get a no-bid contract to build the wall across the Mexican border?
I want to sell the U.S. government the materials needed to build the wall across Mexico. There is a fortune to be made. Does any one have any contacts in the government?

- Most construction work is done by Mexicans. Are we going to hire illegals to build the wall I wonder?
- Halliburton isn't owned by the government. And, if they do get the contract, you'd need to sell you materials to them...not Uncle Sam.
- I'm sorry, you have to be long-standing friends with the administration to be able to bilk tax-payers. It's not just anyone on Yahoo Answers that can do it. And to the first question, yes, they will. Do you ever have sinking disappointment in our government? I mean, are we really back to tea-pot dome days? And why aren't more people outraged? I just don't understand. I think that blind loyalty to our party system is really undermining government.
- We should give prisoners a no-bid contract to build the wall. Make 'em useful to society.
- Might want to call hillbilly clinton - he was the first pres to give no bid contracts to haliburton. Hmm, wonder why that was. Oh, that's right, they're the only ones capable of doing broad scope construction work on an international scale.
- Yeah, they're the only ones who can do the job...so, why not?
- I love it when people think they have 100% of the truth, then embarrass themselves ves because they only have 5% of the truth. Halliburton got a no bid contract because those contracts were signed many many many years before the war, and were in place so the govt would;d have a go to guys so as not to loose pace. Halliburon usually runs its contracts at about a 35% profit margin, and in Iraq and Afghanistan, they are operating at an 8% profit margin. Hardly the bilking that they were hoping for. Halliburton does not build concrete walls. It is not the business they are in. You will probably have multiple contractors working on multiple parts at the same time so as to speed construction.
- NO DOUBT!!
