Should someone be held responsible for all the ludicrous spending done on no bid contracts?
Don't you feel cheated out hearing all these companies getting government contracts and overpricing everything because there is no competition to worry about?

- It's disheartening to read about all this corruption. One hopes that there will be justice somewhere down the line. Don't hold your breath though.
- NO!
- Yes, and the biggest problem is not the no bid contracts, but the contracts in general. Most of them are taking the place of things the government ahas done for years, and they don't know how to do it as well. Even though many people like to think of the government as one big corporation that could be privatized making it easier to handle, they have know idea of the intricacies of the government.
- Yes. Congress should. We vote in November 2008. Will we as an America re-elect the same REpublicans and Democrats that don't stop this madness.
- Someone SHOULD be held responsible. Private companies practice this type of favoritism and it's disgusting to me. It should be illegal and I think after the damage this administration has done, congress will start looking into these loopholes and make some new laws preventing it but I'm not holding my breath. The Bush administration has always favored the insiders and cronies close to Bush and Cheney. That's how they are so successful at what they do. Congress should move to impeach this whole administration right now. We can only hope that this will live on in history as a reminder to all that voting is not just a right but a responsibility to be an informed and a cautious voter. Victor the dems did promise to clean the corruption out of Washington but it's hard to do when Bush has surrounded himself with his cronies like Gonzales and Rove among others, who won't even give comprehensive testimony to congressional hearings and the supreme court is a republican court, hand picked by Bush, so there's no help there. The dems can't get anything done until Bush is gone, pure and simple.
- Hey how else can Bush and his National Socialist friends pay their constituency
- Didn't the Democrats run on a platform of investigating and cleaning all this up in 2006 election?
- Yeah, but whom? Can we trust them either? This isn't something new, our government has a loooooong history of this practice. It's just that now, with such a large budget going towards a war that many people disagree with, many are becoming more aware and quite ticked. Pork barrel legislation is another huge problem as well. A lot of wasteful spending going on in government.
