Withdrawing my bid on ebay?

People, I need quick help. I bid for a product being sold on ebay. However, circumstances have made it such that I cannot be able to purchase the product should I be the highest bidder. Is there a way of withdrawing my bid? What steps should I take to remove myself from the bidding process. Thank you.

  1. Search their online guide and also speak to the seller. You can do it, but try to follow protocol so that you minimize the bad impact of doing so...
  2. Ebay only allows that in very special circumstances. You can not remove yourself.
  3. contact the seller and if he/she won't remove it.Then, get rid of your account.Retract bid won't work, read the rules
  4. just fill out this form and click me for best answer. Ebay allows you to retract bids. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RetractBidShow
  5. eBay does have a "bid retraction" feature but according to their site it is only acceptable IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. Look for bid retraction or "retract my bid" for more info and be careful as there are guidelines restricting it.
  6. Send a quick message to the seller that a circumstance has come up that has jeopardized your bid. That you would really like that if your bid was the winning bid, to please offer it to the 2nd highest bidder. A quick message like that should be fine. I had done something similar in the past. I had bid on a watch for my husband, then soon after as I was searching again I realized it was the wrong model number. The seller had no problem with that and I was outbid anyway.
  7. Find the second highest bidder and pay the difference from your amount to there amount and let them have the product. Talking to the bidder wouldn't help. The monry goes to ebay and ebay pays the seller. Both Ebay and the seller can sue you for not delivering he money. Only if you know someone who works at an ebay store then you might have a chance.
  8. Ive cancelled bids many times over the past, that is why im suspended lol.
