What should a contractor be paid on a federal job?
Public Comments
- Would it not be the same as on a regular job?
- It depends on the material, time and even dangers of the task. Are you talking for a contract (i.e. providing services, construction, etc) or is this for a contractor under a department (electrician for the army etc.) What speciality are they providing? In the DOD they hire Subject Matter Experts (SME's) they provide services that are difficult to maintain under military training and such as well as the possibility of how short are they needed. I am a SME as a firefighter. We are not needed for long periods and are called upon for short term work that will not justify changing recruiting efforts as well as having to train and promote to fill the positions needed. Since we are in a combat zone we get paid even more than CONUS contract FF's providing the same services to the same agencies. You need to evaluate all this as well as if you are taking the job, how much are you worth for this project?
