My company sells tires for 18 wheelers, heavy mine equipment, trailer and forklift tires. Is there any government program that we can bid for? If so, how do they work? I live in Texas, should I contact the Texas State Department?

- You can check with the Texas Departartment of Transportation (TexDoT),and see what forms you can download to fill out and turn in . Or you can go to your nearest Texdot office and ask for a bid package. Make sure you let them know what it's for. Make sure your company has proof of insurance to protect your workers. You will have to submit copies. And all your employees MUST have a Social Security number. Also go to www.ccr.gov Civilian Contractor Registry- you will be able to compete for government contracts. Just fill out the questionaire.
- Yes there is. They most probably buy from the same people that you buy from. Most governments buy directkly from the manufacturers, simply because it is so much cheaper. Have a look at the website of the Texas Treasury and USA Treasury.
