- You should not join a party ! Both major parties have good ideas and bad ideas. part of the corruption in politics is from the kook fringes that decide for both parties. You should base your voting on the candidate with the best ideas that agree with your beliefs. There can be no way that a party will agree with all of its party members. Right now the Democrats have the left wing Move on .org groups trying to control the platform. many of their ideas do not fit with the mainstream Democrat. The same holds true with the Republican ticket. Americans need to decide by person , by position on what best serves our country. Remaining independent of both major parties does not mean a person will not vote for either.
- Pick one yourself.
- It's very simple. If you earn more than $200,000 per year you join Republican If you earn less than $200,000 per year join the Democrats. Dah
- The Republican Party!!! For lower taxes, strong military, strong Patriot Act, Strong Defense against Terrorism. Stronger economy, etc; etc!!
- You got the right party , the only one left, Democrat.
- Predominantly you are a Democrat. Affimative action, gun control, a larger Federal Government, protections from religeous encroachment into public areas, protection of privacy, recognition of homosexuality, ... these are ideas that are not welcome in the Republican party. You are moderate on a lot of issues. Only the federal school system would be considered extreme. Everyone wants lower taxes. Everyone wants to provide aid and have a strong defense. But your desires for these and a very large federal government cannot be afforded without higher taxes so you should recognize the conflicts in your desires.
- You sound like a cross between a Socialist and a Libertarian. Try the democratic party.
- I saw the post and started reading your positions..I would say stay Independent and vote for those candidates that you agree with. I was struck by one thing though..."-gun control for assault weapons" An "assault Weapon" is one that has selective fire between Semi-auto and Auto modes. As a selective fire weapon is already banned to the general public, unless you hold a Class III FFL, What more control would you want? I use a Mini-30 for deer hunting. Would you want to take that away too?
- Neither
