What do I need to get an 8A certification?
I am planning to start a small business with the hope of getting lucrative 8A contract from the government and private enterprise. Could someone suggest how to get started? How could I find mentors who can help? Thanks

- Governemnt contracting jobs don't go to just anyone, or even the lowest bidder... it's goes to the friends of the politicians..
- www.sba.gov/8abd/ This is the Small Business Administration's website and they have an online application for 8a certification. Our business tried to apply for 8a certification at one time because we are woman-owned, but we are not a small or disadvantaged business so we didn't qualify. Good luck. If you do qualify, you will get preference in contracting with the government.
