Is A Contract Postal Unit Worker A Government Employee?

Are individuals who work for a Contract Postal Unit (A small USPS service center often seen in grocery stores or other businesses) considered governement employees with the same pay grade and benefits? How much are they typically paid?

Public Comments

  1. I believe that they are considered goverment employees but depending on the location or circumstances, may be considered contract workers. I would be careful though, I hear that those postal workers carry guns and like to "go postal" from time to time.
  2. No, they are employees of the contractor.
