I applied for a governmental job,& i was employed, but when my letter of appoinment came,to my surprise,?

the annual salary fell below what we agreed on by almost $7,000.00 & i refused to accept the job & i protested. Then, they apologised to me in a letter n said "That, your salary was misqouted & it should have read,$36,632.00." After working with this governmental department for 3 months, they renagade on agreement we had,& reduced my annual salary to $29,632.00, without even informing me in writing &,when i protested on this i was told that was the agreement that the,County government entered with the Labour Union in my job,to pay new employee on that scale. I told the head of the H.R,that the contract didn't applied to me as i already have an agreement which is on the letter of my appointment, which states how much i will be paid. I've gone to the Union to register my complaint to no avail. Does anyone out here, know of a website, where i can review labour law,or a good labour lawyer in Maryland? Because,i know that my right & the agreement we had when i was employed is being violeted.

  1. What can you do when your working for the Government. If you report them to Labor relations that is the Government also. You can't win for losing.
  2. If you have documentation from them stating a certain wage, and they are not paying you that wage, then you might have a good case. You might get help from Maryland Legal Aid http://www.mdlab.org/. Good luck.
