Are there highly paid armed security or federal security guard jobs in San Diego/Southern California?
I would like to relocate to the west coast from the D.C area. I am currently a Federal Contract guard and would like to continue in this field in southern California. Are there positions/companies that are good and pay above 40,000 a year?

- In California there are several armed security companies, probably fewer federal security jobs, ITs not like DC with all the federal buildings and the G4S (Wackenhut) police services division. You may consider working at one of the local military bases as a civilian military police officer. But at the salary you gave you can probably even work as a armored guard with Brinks or Dunbar and make that much because standard of living in southern California is expensive.
