How hateful! I hope not all Australians are like this because this is so ugly and mean. He's just completely pushing out Muslims who have lived in Australia for generations.

well australians are publicly known for their public display of racism towards non-whites. the australian prime minister, the leader and spokesman for australia, clearly is reinforcing that world view on australian stereotype.

If people want to make a statement about what they believe in they should have the balls to do it without hiding behind this. And JH wouldn't have the balls to say this. He may be a conservative but he is a little bitch when it comes to offending people. Especially those that his government let in to the country. **I never knew the internet was a reliable source of information. It is being circulated by email (clue one!) some versions call him president (clue 2) it is not found in archives of actual speeches (clue 3). Perhaps they are using Johnny because everyone is ignorant about Australia and it's politics. You can also find actual speeches made by little Johnny and you will see that this sounds nothing like his regular speeches. Again, politicians do not speak like this.
I wish he would say something like this but i doubt it seeing as it's the immigrant vote (above anything else) which kept labour in power.

As an Aussie I can tell you that this is not real. You've been fool by keyboard warrior that probably doesn't do anything about his views. Can't people tell the difference between a real speech and a rant by an everyday person? ffs John Howard would never say this. Other ministers had made even less divisive statements and there was a huge uproar. I can't even imagine what would happen if Howard said this. You are all being fooled if you think that Howard would even care about Australians to say this. Any political party or individual that has suggested anything like this has been attacked by the neo-cons of the Howard government. Who btw were voted out last year.
We could do with a fearless plain speaker like that here, everyones too afraid of offending someone else.
