Federal job in Alaska?
I work for a local government in Maryland. I would like to get a federal job in Alaska. Being in government and having contracted in the federal government, I am unclear about where I would go for interview, if I hit the jackpot and win the interview. If work location is in Anchorage, AK, do I need to go to Anchorage for the interview, or can I be interviewed someplace near OPM in DC which is pretty close from my home state of Maryland?

- You will most like be interviewed over the phone. I work for the federal government and have interviewed on the phone for other agencies that were located throughout the US.
- The opportunity for a face-to-face interview is rare, but you should expect a telephone interview. This process greatly reduces the expense of purchasing appropriate clothing for the interview or absorbing travel expenses to get there. You will only have this one opportunity to express yourself verbally about why you are the person best suited to the job.
