Have the Australians got this right???? Whats your opinion?

Australians have got it right! Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said. asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off." >>Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians." "However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle." "This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom" We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!" "Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture." We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us." "If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like " A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others. "This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'." "If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted." Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, British citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voting the same truths!!

  1. i don't think it matters what religion you are, as long as you are working and paying your way, all the best
  2. Sounds like I should move to Australia.
  3. time to get tough
  4. Big congrats to the land down under. More people should grow a spin and do this.
  5. No, of course they don't. Who cares how Muslims live in your country, as long as they obey the Laws. Many countries (including Canada) allow religious courts for some family laws.
  6. Attaboy! Now if the aussie's have the b**** to run their country not according to popular opinions then the U.S. should take note.
  7. Good for the Aussies!
  8. Well said, we don't have the privilege to speak the truth in UK
  9. I find this approach completely acceptable and smacks of common sense. When in Rome.........
  10. While I am not an enthusiast for Premier Howard's unwavering support for the US, he sets a fine example to the governments of the UK and and any other Western country that are choking on the manual of political correctness.
  11. Australia is playing by a different set of rules. Being in the southern hemisphere they enjoy a certain isolationism. Ordinary citizens don't even have the right to bear arms.
  12. I've always wanted to visit Australia. It may sound unfair and cruel, but you have to protect the borders and your country. Opening yourself to wide to freedom and rights can be damaging in it's own way. We have learned that here in the states, but maybe we haven't learned it well enough yet.
  13. Oh please let this be true - I seriously think it is an adaptation of something seen on the internet a while ago. And where do I get an application form to go to Australia!?!
  14. too bloo*y right!! how is it that we tie ourselves up. in knots making sure not to offend people from other cultures, yet if we go to their countries, we still have to adapt and follow their rules?
  15. sound ok to me.If you want to live in Saudi Arabia you dont open a pub and expect to get away with it or move to Israel and open a pork butchers or move to Argentina and hang a banner out saying "keep the Falklands British" If Australia goes that way then who are the migrants to say that things should change for thier customs. If I wamt to move there(and yes I would love to) I wouldn`t expect the Australian government to provide me with the things that are quinesentially English
  16. 'Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented'. How did the aboriginals get there then? Osmosis?
  17. That is a great approach that Australia has the rest of these nations how to deal with all these radical fanatics of Islam. I really believe in the right to worship to whatever religion you like but some of these people take it to the extreme in a criminal way. I believe the should all be prosecuted.
  18. I wish i lived in Australia I'm sick of this country.
  19. Wish that would happen in the USA.
  20. John Howard was quite right in every word he said. It is a pity that our Prime minister doesn't take the same stance here.
  21. I only read the first part of your question but can say i agree with the australians 100%. I drives me batty that people come over and expect us to adapt to them and not the other way around and especially when they hate us and only want to do us harm whilst living off our taxes. If I were to visit a muslim country for example I would be expected to cover my hair (which I would do without question) so why can they not respect our laws and traditions?
  22. Well done the Aussies, It`s a shame the UK Government does not have the balls to do the same.
  23. If only the Tony blair had the guts to say that, I just hope G.Brown has
  24. You mean the Aussies actually believed them? Ask em if they wanna buy a boat.
  25. hmmm....good for them.
  26. They have it 100% right and our nation and all the other free nations of the world should have the backbone to stand up as they have done. Our descent into political correctness, diversity, multiculturalism, and fear of offending the opinion's of a minority of the people will be the downfall of our civilization as we know it. I would like to see those sentiments spread the world over so that no extremist will ever think that freedom and light will give way to tyranny and hate. All people should study the years preceding WW 2 and see where appeasement contributed greatly to the war and then ask themselves if appeasement or the courage of the government of Australia will better serve the needs of the free world. Thanks for the question. P.S. Please note that I said A minority of The people and not of minority's
  27. Immigrants and Refugees have to respect the Law and tradition of the host country, if no, go back where you came from
  28. WOW!! I LOVE AUSTRALIA--WAY TO GO AUSTRALIANS!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ELOQUENT LETTER , I LOVE IT!!
